In my opinion, nothing is better than a dry Pinot Noir

Has anyone tried the Sophia Coppola wine? Is it as flat and lifeless as her performance int Godfather III? (snap.)

  • Time to get some motion into this Red Wine Drinkers group…
(or all you all still hung over from the night before?)

    What are you drinking now?
I am on my third day of a bottle of Haute Medoc, 2003 Chateau Larose-Trintaudon. It finally lives up to its price tag (about $20), now that I am about to finish it. I should have just left it open and sit!

What are your all time favorites?
Tres Conchas a portuguese wine, not very expensive at all!
I have enjoyed some very old Rioja and Duero wines, but I can’t remember them, exactly

Anyone into building a wine cellar?
I am in the middle of staining wood racks and have a very slow moving project of getting my cellar finished.

    Anyone into wine gadgets?
My best recent purchase is a wine decanter on a metal stand. It has a glass ball on top, over which you pour the wine. The theory is that that the wine takes up as much contact with the air while it flowing as a thin layer over the ball. It then collects into a funnel shaped glass dispenser, so everyone can serve themselves easily. It looks pretty, but most of all it makes a world of difference! I was skeptical and bought it primarily as a decoration on the bar. However trying a glass straight from the bottle and one just poured through this gadget is amazingly different. I can highly recommend it.

  • Yeah, they both have serious issues, but I like the way they stick together as friends. When I went to see the movie I had no idea what is was about, someone else picked it and I joined last minute. I love to see a movie when you have no idea what to expect. This movie is already unpredictable if you know what it is about, so I enjoyed it.

  • I didn’t like Sideways much but I do get the reference. I found the two male characters repulsive and nothing about their stories interesting. The one douche steals from his mother and the other cheats on his fiance with another woman who he ends up hurting. I didn’t find the movie entertaining. I wanted them both to end up dead at the end. ::slowly backs away from the soapbox::

I do, however, prefer red over white any day. My personal favorite comes from Puglia, Italy. Promessa Rosso Salento It bursts with flavor. I’ve not found anything else quite like it.

  • Let me start by recommending the movie ”Sideways” and then we will revisit you Pinot preference… :)
