  • Well, RDJ is definitely a good one, but my personal favorite is drukqs. It’s a double CD and the pieces alternate between truly virtuosic electronica the likes of which still haven’t been paralleled and slower ”mood” pieces mostly recorded on prepared piano and other strange acoustic instruments. It didn’t get stellar reviews as I recall and is not the favorite on any other Aphex fan that I know, but I think it’s remarkable. Check it out.

  • Michael–

I’m a ”budding audiophile” meaning I’m growing into a music addict. i know nothing about sound equipment….this week. :>

  • Sounds like you’ve explored much more Aphex Twin than I have…the only album I’ve listened to in its entirety is the Richard D. James album (surprise, right?).

  • Finally, someone else who likes Aphex Twin! It’s not like I’m obsessed with him or anything, but I certainly used to be in the nineties. I still love his work and really dug his release ”Rushup Edge” under the name Karen Tregaskin (The Tuss). I suppose it’s possible that this wasn’t him, but no one that I know in the industry believes that. Do you have a favorite album?

  • First of all: Anyone who puts the ”… for Dummies” books as favorite literature on a high IQ social site has to be a cool person :)

”my own masterpiece in progress” I like that!

”Budding Audiophile” as in looking for high fidelity sound equipment?

”new foods” as in ”new” to you, or ”new” in general ?
